This weekend, I found myself standing outside the fence at my son's tennis tournament.  🎾

And honestly? I wasn't just a proud mom cheering from the sideline. I was watching something that stopped me mid-thought and made me pull out my notes app — because what I was witnessing wasn't just tennis. It was business. It was leadership. It was you.

Let me explain.

What Nobody Sees Before the Match

Before my son ever stepped onto that court this weekend, there were months of lessons and practices. Drills he ran over and over until they became muscle memory. Serves he practiced in the heat when no one was watching. Footwork. Strategy. Mental focus. Days where nothing clicked and he kept going anyway.

None of that was glamorous. None of it made a highlight reel.

But every single bit of it showed up when it mattered.

That's the part I want to talk to you about today — because I know you're in it right now! The behind-the-scenes grind. The consistent effort that sometimes feels like it's going nowhere. The work you keep showing up to do even when the results aren't obvious yet.

I see you. And I need you to hear this:

The work is working — even when you can't see it yet.

The system you put in place so you could actually deliver when the moment came.

That's your tournament.

And when you walk into that room — that pitch, that meeting, that conversation — all of that behind-the-scenes work shows up with you. Your confidence. Your clarity. Your capability. It's all there because you built it when no one was watching.

The win doesn't happen on the court. It happens in the months before you ever set foot on it.

Consistency Is Your Competitive Edge

Here's what separates the leaders who break through from those who stay stuck at the edge of their potential:

They don't quit during the invisible season.

Write it down. Commit to it. Then go do the work.

You are building something real. Something that matters. And the effort you're putting in right now — even the quiet, unsexy, no-one's-watching kind — is exactly what's going to make the difference when your moment arrives.
